Summary/Overview:

KBRA Credit Profile (KCP) is a best-in-class subscription surveillance service for the Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (CMBS) community. KCP serves the largest investment banks, broker-dealers, insurance companies, and money managers.

KBRA is seeking a seasoned professional with CMBS and/or commercial real estate (CRE) experience that is excited about a long-term career at a growing firm. This successful candidate will lead our CRE research effort by producing insightful analysis and market-leading research on market trends for consumption by clients, reporters, and the broader financial community. This research lead will also review analyst work, present constructive feedback, and collaborate with other senior team members on various initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead topical and recurring research projects, able to work independently and within a team setting.
  • Review analyst-produced credit reports and provide valuable feedback prior to publication.
  • Monitor the performance of CMBS securitizations and prepare transaction reports highlighting KCP's opinion of credit quality.
  • Perform detailed cash flow analysis for CRE properties and develop valuations using income and sales approaches to value.
  • Keep abreast of the CRE and CMBS landscapes by attending conferences and seminars (in-person or virtual), listening to podcasts, and reading industry literature.

Key Job Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of CRE, CMBS, or rating agency. An advanced degree in real estate finance a plus.
  • Critical thinker/problem solver/self-starter with a passion for quality output.
  • Ability to build rapport and develop relationships both internally and externally
  • Strong written/oral communication and presentation skills
  • Must be assertive, detailed-oriented, energetic, organized, and resourceful
  • Prior experience on the buy/sell side or with a rating agency or other financial institution a plus
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in finance, accounting, or real estate
  • Strong MS Excel and MS Word skills required, familiarity with SQL and VBA a plus
  • Working knowledge of CREFC Investor Reporting Package, Trepp, Intex and/or Bloomberg

Salary Range:

The anticipated annual base salary range for this full-time position is $100,000 to $115,000. Offer amounts are determined by factors such as experience, skills, geography, and other job-related factors.
