Summary:

Under the direct supervision of a designated supervisor, provides technical and advisory support services for University and Health System-wide program areas, primarily chemical safety but which may also include radiation safety, biological safety, occupational safety, industrial hygiene, hazardous waste management, and other safety-related programs. Provides support to ensure compliance with applicable standards, laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Required Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a related field of science; chemistry, biology, physics, occupational safety, or industrial hygiene for example. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong math and computer skills.
  • Good oral and written communications skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Available for 24-hour emergency on-call rotation as scheduled.

Preferred Skills & Abilities

  • Experience working in a health and safety related field is a plus.

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
