Soltane Cafe is a heart-centered coffee shop and bakery built upon the concepts of connection, inclusion, and quality. Our enterprise in downtown Phoenixville began in 2011 and is a social enterprise of Camphill Soltane, a local nonprofit and member of the international Camphill Movement (www.camphill.org). We believe in meaningful work for people of all abilities and backgrounds. We’re dedicated to serving coffee with integrity and inviting our guests to learn a little more about their favorite brews.

Baristas are an essential member of the cafe team. Qualified candidates will have proven ability to provide excellent customer service and a demonstrated passion for coffee. We seek an individual who is as dedicated to creating delicious beverages as they are making meaningful community connections.

Job Requirements:

• Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Camphill Soltane.
• Weekend availability
• Physically able to lift 30 lbs and work on feet for the majority of the day

Qualifications/Experience:

• Valid driver’s license or state ID
• Previous experience as a barista preferred, further training provided
• Previous experience working with volunteers and people with disabilities preferred
• Positive and innovative with excellent customer service skills
• Willingness to learn
• Works well within a team

Job Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain high quality coffee and tea beverages
• Provide a high level of customer service and show respect to all people
• Keep an organized and clean workspace
• Foster a welcoming environment
• Multitask and maintain positivity during moments of high volume
• Proactively respond to guests’ questions and always look for opportunities to share knowledge and invite people to learn more
• Tasks include, but are not limited to fulfilling customer food and drink orders, removing trash/recycling/compost, washing dishes, and cleaning interior surfaces
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
