Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager of Volunteer Services, the Chaplain is responsible for spiritual/emotional care at the hospital for patients, families, and staff. This role includes spiritual/emotional assessment, chaplaincy intervention, education, and as appropriate, community liaison.
Provides mentoring and coaching to volunteer chaplains.
Position Accountabilities:.
- Accountable for providing leadership and direction to the Pastoral Care Department.
- Mentors and coaches staff and provides direction as needed.
- Accountable for providing therapeutic and pastoral counseling services.
- Maintains involvement with clients who have emotional/mental health problems with religious overtones.
- Performs individual/family pastoral counseling services.
- Accurately identifies and interprets from client's behavior any religious ideation.
- Accountable for providing referral and follow-up services to facilitate continuity of care for clients and their families.
- Makes appropriate referrals for support services.
- Accountable for serving as liaison between clients/family members and community care providers.
- Provides appropriate input in strategy and review sessions, committees, and task forces to facilitate linkages and communication.
- Provides appropriate information and/or input in meetings pertaining to case management and case collaboration.
- Establishes contacts with local religious institutions; recruits assistance when needed in the provision of religious programs.
- Accountable for serving as Community Resource Coordinator.
- Plans, implements, directs and supervises the Chaplaincy Volunteer Program.
- Administers the volunteer program to ensure that Institutional Policy is being adhered to while providing the client with a wide scope of religious services.
Position Qualifications:
Completion of (four or more quarters) training in an accredited Clinical Pastoral Education Program.
Three or more years of Post-Ordination Pastoral experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred
Pay range: $37.07 Minimum - $57.46 Maximum an hour
Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.
