Dental Assistant

A Growing and Progressive Community Health Center (with seven (7) locations throughout the metro Detroit area) has an immediate opening for Dental Assistants for a busy dental care practice in a patient friendly ambulatory setting.

Position Description

We are looking for team-orientated Dental Assistants who will make the dentist’s office more efficient and pleasant for patients. As a Dental Assistant you will perform selected dental duties that assist in patient care management. Under direct supervision, you will assist the Dentist & Hygienist during dental procedures. You should be well organized with great attention to details, willing to take initiative, and be able to make dental procedures as smooth as possible.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Welcome patients in the dental office
• Records patients' medical/dental histories;
• Prepare patients for treatments or check ups
• Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials needed
• Sterilized instruments according to regulations
• Assist the Dentist & Hygienist through the dentistry process
• Provide oral hygiene and postoperative care instructions
• Other Duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven experience as dental assistant
• Knowledge of Dental Instruments and Sterilization methods
• Understanding of Health & Safety regulations
• Good Computer skills
• Excellent communication & people skills
• Well organized and reliable
• Attention to detail
• High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is required
