Our dental practice has been serving families throughout the Goochland, Western Henrico, and Richmond area for twenty years. We have a state-of-the-art facility using digital technology for radiographs, intra-oral photography. Our philosophy is to help our patients attain optimal dental health and in doing so, live healthier and happier lives. By nature, we are fairly conservative which means that we don’t recommend unnecessary treatment to patients… but we do not hesitate in recommending treatment that will make a patient healthier. We practice “Golden Rule” dentistry: we do for our patient what we would expect to be done for ourselves and our families. We enjoy developing long-term relationships with our team and with our patients. Our focus is not on a “quick fix”, but rather on helping someone obtain and maintain their dental health. We have a friendly and professional team that shares my total patient care oriented philosophy.

Prerequisites:

We are seeking to add to our team the role of Dental Assistant.

Requirements:

1. 1 year Dental Assisting experiance, and X-ray certification

2. Current CPR certification

3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

4. Excellent interpersonal skills to get along with patients and the dental team.

5. Ability to make temporary crowns, whitening trays, diagnostic impressions, sealants- if you don’t know how you will learn

6. Super neat!

The main priority of this position is patient care and duties related to that care.

A description of minimum duties required in this position is:

1. Clean and sterilize treatment rooms and instruments.

2. Escort patients to and from treatment area.

3. Taking digital x-rays and extraoral photographs.

4. Assist the dentists, hygienists, and lead assistant in patient care.

5. Take charge of lab quality control and monitoring of lab cases.

6. Perform routine maintenance of equipment.

7. Maintain inventory control within the budget.

8. Update MSDS information in the OSHA book.

9. Help with clerical work as directed.

10. Participate and help prepare practice marketing program

11. Attendance at and participation in:

• Daily huddles and staff meetings,
• Practice management meetings as required and,
• CE courses required by the doctor

12. Routine cleanup of any area of the office
