Bloomer Trailer Mfg., Inc. in Salado, Texas is currently seeking an experienced Design Engineer. The Design Engineer needs to be knowledgeable in SolidWorks Programmer for our Drafting department. The Design Engineer is responsible for assisting the drafting department with projects related to the manufacture of trailers, buildings and other work. Drafting work will include setting up base files, creating line work, annotation, addressing comments and redlines, as well as supporting R&D and Sales with project drawings.

Essential Job Duties of the Design Engineer:

• Design trailer plans and specs using basic engineering principles
• Design jigs and fixtures to support manufacturing efficiency
• Execute and provide input to new or existing designs
• Design and build components and models with 3D printer
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated drawings
• Collaborate with Sales department and Plant Manager to implement designs and modifications for custom features and existing plans or models
• Resolve system malfunctions and provide technical information for accurate Bills of material within Solid Works program

Competencies of the Design Engineer:

• 3+ years of experience in experience with SolidWorks drafting and design program
• Creative design, problem solving, and implementation skills
• Math capacity, attention to detail and ability to organize and handle multiple activities
• Strong interpersonal skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
