Description:This person will be responsible for all aspects of supervising a sales team as well as developing and executing sales plans in and around the surrounding areas of Ft. Wayne.

  • Maintain effective customer relations and promote the goodwill of the company throughout the trade area
  • Supervise and direct assigned sales representatives to ensure the greatest possible sales and distribution of products and maintain morale and motivation
  • Conduct monthly meeting with Sales Representatives
  • Implement and execute the marketing strategies of the company
  • Schedule personnel to cover promotional activities
  • Assist in handling supplier relationships as required
  • Identify and emphasize sales and placements in key accounts
  • Organize the sales department's structure including assigning accounts, territories and product lines
  • Oversee recruitment, selection and training of the sales force
  • Communicate with Purchasing Specialist regarding ordering products and projecting sales
  • Prepare monthly sales objectives and a plan of action related to business activities
  • Prepares all quote documentation with accurate pricing for all current or prospective customers.
  • Manage merchandise displays during peak seasonal roll out to accounts
  • Cover routes for Sales Representatives on vacation.
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of company activities and industry trends
  • Knowledge and ability to use Company routing software.
  • Maintain adherence to all Company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates including evenings and/or weekends.

Requirements:

  • Proven sales and management experience a plus
  • Basic understanding of Cavalier Distributing products
  • Cicerone Certified Beer Server required or Certified Cicerone a plus
  • 5 plus years related experience
  • Familiarity with the bar/restaurant industry and the liquor retail industry
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Valid unexpired driver's license with clean MVR
  • Reliable transportation
  • Highly organized, self-directed, motivated, strong project management skills
  • Excellent computer skills, highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of Encompass a plus.
  • Ability to positively represent the organization to the public and customers and promote the goodwill of the company.
