A successful candidate will possess:

Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Science, Ecology, Environmental Science, Geography, Natural Science, Natural Resources, Landscape Architecture, Forestry, Wildlife Biology, Environmental Studies or similar field.
One to five years of experience as an Environmental Scientist.
Completion of 5-Day Basic Wetland Delineation Course, or the ability to complete within 6 months. Has basic knowledge in vegetation identification, soil identification, and/or knowledge of hydrology.
Computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Arch GIS Pro, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
Ability to plan and deliver effective verbal and written communication skills. To establish and maintain client relationships independently or to support the team.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong collaboration skills to work with landscape architects, planners, and engineering teams.
Basic knowledge of local, state, and/or federal regulations and ability to follow.
Strong problem-solving skills. Capable of defining the problem, identifying alternative solutions, presenting recommendations.
In addition to office time, the ability to work outdoors, visit projects, physically maneuver around active construction sites, undeveloped ground, uneven terrain, and wooded areas.

Responsibilities include but not limited to…

Perform desktop Wetland Delineation studies including inventory, analysis, and studies of existing state of project sites.
Perform site visits, field research, site monitoring, and construction observation. Such as wetland determinations/delineations, mitigation monitoring, species and habitat surveys, cultural surveys, etc.
Ability to identify appropriate site conditions for habitat restoration, reclamation or disturbed sites, and urbanized areas.
Responsible for completion, review, and submittal of wetland and waterway delineation reports, maps, and exhibits.
Responsible for supporting/completing environmental (natural resources) compliance, permitting, consulting, studies, and/or mitigation compliance monitoring.
Assist with Clean Water Act Section 404 permitting with specific experience interacting with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and/or Fish and Wildlife Services (Endangered Species Act Section 7 and 10. Other agency coordination/facilitation as necessary.
Assist with other permitting responsibilities including but not limited to Post Construction Stormwater Management Plans, Industrial Stormwater Permits and Construction Stormwater Permits.
