Spring Mill Country Club is seeking a Working Executive Sous Chef to join our team. Our restaurant, Judd’s and Jackson’s, is open to the public. Our restaurant offers a casual, family-friendly atmosphere and a wide range of New American specialties and favorites to satisfy various tastes.

Executive Sous Chef Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage Kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef
  • Responsible to work and run the à la carte food line
  • Conducts daily shift briefings with staff
  • Oversees weekly and monthly inventories
  • Maintains a clean, sanitary and orderly kitchen
  • Creates a highly functional, teamwork-orientated back of the house
  • Responsible for the overall management of the restaurant kitchen
  • Assist the Executive Chef in the development of creative menus and implementation of food promotions in keeping with seasonality and restaurant concepts
  • Ensures profitability of the Kitchen
  • Drive quality standards for all food prepared in the kitchen, constantly inspects taste, temperature and visual appeal and portion size

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Candidate must have 7 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage industry
  • Culinary Arts Degree preferred but will consider overall experience
  • Oversee all functions as necessary to ensure all food is at the required quality
  • Manage the ordering of food products to ensure financial objectives are met and produce is available for all events
  • Mature, disciplined, committed & a flexible team player with positive outlook
  • Flexible schedule and availability including evenings and weekends
  • Versed on calculation of food cost
  • Able to lead, train, motivate, and evaluate kitchen team for optimum performance
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Follow directions and instructions
  • A minimum of two years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
  • Food safety certification (ServSafe®)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
