The Club: Located on the picturesque Cape in Mashpee, Massachusetts, Willowbend Country Club offers many fantastic amenities that include award-winning championship golf, gourmet dining options, state-of-the art facilities, a grand clubhouse, and racquet sports including an extensive tennis program and pickleball courts.

The Opportunity: We are looking for a Golf Course Started to join our team! The Starter is required to ensure that the membership is serviced to the best of his/her ability and direct the play of golf according to set guidelines and standards.

The Starter works closely with the Head Golf Pro and staff of Willowbend Country Club and to profitably operate Golf division in a professional manner.

The Starter must be able to work independently and be a self-starting problem solver. As required, he/she will seek information and refer to specific unique problems/opportunities to the Head Golf Professional.

The Starter accepts Country Club related operating recommendations and suggestions from the Membership and works to balance operational and financial objectives.

Duties Include:

• Coordinate timely tee off by Members and Guests.
• Monitor and direct the pace of play throughout the day.
• Report pace of play and Member concerns/complaints to the Head Golf Professional.
• Resolve immediate problems with players regarding pace of play and report any incidents to the Head Professional.
• Direct cart path and golf etiquette policies.
• Periodically clean and straighten practice facility.
• Assist in cleaning and preparation of golf carts for staging and cart storage.
• Keep work area clean and orderly in its presentation.
• Occasionally help with tournament preparation.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Necessary Knowledge/Skills:

• Ability to deliver a high quality standard of service, consistently with emphasis on continued improvement.
• Understanding and knowledge of golf, private club and/or hospitality operations.
• Ability to train, motivate and supervise.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and move about freely in a multi-floor building. The employee is frequently required to visually observe the condition of his/her surroundings. Routinely required to bend, stoop, stand, walk, carry and lift objects weighing 50 pounds or less.
