Description:

Orion Security Solutions is looking for a dedicated Human Resources Assistant to assist the team in improving the employee experience, support staffing efforts, and perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization's human resource department. The main responsibilities of this position will be assisting in the recruitment and onboarding efforts of the company across all divisions. Applicants for this position must be very well organized and have excellent written and verbal communication as well as outstanding people skills. This role will report directly to the Human Resources Director.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refering more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Source and filter appropriate job applicants and perform reference checks.
  • Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Schedule and conduct initial phone interviews.
  • Compile reports on recruitment for the HR department.
  • Participate in recruitment events, such as career fairs, preparing information packets, and gathering information from suitable candidates.
  • Provide clerical support to the HR department.
  • Assist with payroll functions including answering employee questions, and fixing errors.
  • Conduct or assist with new hire orientation.
  • Assist with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and celebrations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in and knowledge of the recruitment process.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of employment legislature and practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Knowledge of HR resources and tools.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information systems (HRIS), and similar computer applications.

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of human resources or office administration experience preferred
