Human Resources Hiring and Recruiting Coordinator

Classification: Exempt

Summary/Objective

The Human Resources Hiring and Recruiting Coordinator is responsible for all hiring and recruitment efforts for identified programs/locations. The Coordinator is recognized as the local lead in coordinating efforts related to hiring, recruiting, retention, and employee recognition. This position supports organizational Human Resources efforts to create the conditions for all employees to give their best each day, committed to the organization’s goals and values, motivated to contribute to organizational success and ready to grow professionally. The Coordinator will work closely with Corporate Human Resources in identifying improvement areas and ensuring organizational recruitment and retention strategies are implemented.

Essential Functions

  • Develops recruitment and retention strategies to achieve required staffing levels. Collaborates with managers to create specific recruiting plans and programs to attract candidates
  • Responsible for maintaining the corporate HRIS advertising and applicant portal including posting of all internal and external position requisitions. Manages all online and print advertising efforts. Adheres to corporate branding principles companies and collaborates with the marketing and communications department as needed. Provides monthly and quarterly recruiting and hiring activity reports for management.
  • Represents the company at hiring and recruitment events and is responsible for public speaking as related to community events and radio/television advertising spots. Develops and maintains professional relationships with college and university placement offices as a source to generate qualified applicants. Provides information on company operations and job opportunities to potential applicants
  • Directs the efforts of employment agencies and search firms, including negotiating and controlling employment-related fees
  • Participates in development of annual recruiting budget
  • May provide initial applicant screening to obtain work history, education, training, job skills and salary requirements for hiring managers
  • Arranges travel and lodging for applicants as needed
  • Assist in on-boarding and orientation efforts as needed
  • Develops and conducts training programs for managers with goal of improving recruiting, interviewing and hiring efficiencies and reducing turnover. Trainings will adhere to good adult learning principles and be available in various formats
  • Coordinates employee recognition activities including maintaining a list of no/low cost recognition opportunities for managers, collaborating with the marketing and communications department to communicate employee achievements through corporate newsletters, etc., and working with executive/senior management to identify opportunities for employee recognition/appreciation events
  • Works with staff development to coordinate volunteer/student/resident programs. Works collaboratively with managers to identify learning opportunities that support organizational goals and student educational plans
  • Responsible for coordinating the employee referral program. Promotes referral earning potential in workplace, communicate successful referrals to referring employee and coordinates payment of referral earnings with payroll. Provides quarterly report of referral activity for management
  • Conducts employee exit interviews in accordance with corporate policies and procedures. Works closely with managers to identify opportunities for reducing turnover. Provides monthly and quarterly exit interview/turnover reports for management
  • Works with HR Manager to develop and update applicable policy and procedures for hiring, recruiting, retention, recognition, volunteer/student/resident program, referral program and exit interviews

This job typically operates in a professional office environment with a moderate level of noise and minimal exposure to outdoor weather conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional flex hours, evening and/or weekend work may be required.

Travel

This position requires up to 25% travel.

Required Education and Experience

  • Associate degree and 1 year of direct recruitment experience or high school and 3 years of direct recruitment experience
  • Eligibility and attainment of human resources professional certification within 2 years of hire
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and proof of current auto insurance

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or health related field
  • Human resources professional certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP)
