Summary

The Field Supervisor oversees the construction, maintenance, beautification and landscaping of parks, private and public grounds, playgrounds, golf courses, sports facilities and other open spaces. Supervises, trains, and assists work crews, manages various projects and deals directly with clients. May include administrative duties in an office setting.

Essential Job Functions

· Plans, develops and executes projects to improve and beautify outdoor areas.

· Manages and schedules staff, subcontractors and equipment.

· Monitors equipment operation and repair.

· Inspect completed work, as well as makes decisions on soil, plant species, layouts and designs.

·Oversees the completion of quality work and ensures it is performed in a timely manner.

·Trains workers and keeps track of completed projects.

·Enforces Earthscapes policies and procedures, manages budgets and suggests alternatives to how work should be done.

· Ensures safety procedures are followed.

· When working with subcontractors, may be responsible for developing requirements for contract bids and for selecting the winning bid.

·Works closely with landscape architects, designers and owners throughout a project.

·Other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

· High school diploma or equivalent and 7+ year’s supervisory experience in commercial landscaping.

· Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, plant health care, planting and identification practices

· Excellent communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish

· Ability to identify problems and resolve them in a timely and appropriate manner

· Ability to manage multiple tasks; prioritize and plan work to maximize efficiency

· Follow through on pending items to ensure timely completion

· Complete paperwork accurately and timely

Additional Requirements

·Ability to lift heavy objects, frequently kneel and bend, walk and stand for long periods of time under adverse field conditions.

·Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, cold temperatures, fumes, and exposure to dust.

·Noise level is generally loud.

·Work in the construction area poses significantly greater risk due to moving construction equipment and active construction zones with trip and fall hazards.

·Requires valid state-specific driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record that meets Haydon’s insurability requirements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
