Job Summary and Qualifications

The Engineering Manager is responsible for the efficient operation of the department and staff for maintaining all mechanical equipment, building systems and components of the hospital. Under the general supervision of the Facilities Director, they will resource staff, help diagnose problems, offer solutions, and act to ensure the safety, care, and comfort of staff and patients. They will also oversee the Emergency Management program, working with CATRAC, GTFD, GTPD, GTHD, and other agencies to ensure emergency readiness. They will be an example of professionalism and excellence in workmanship.

  • You will oversee all maintenance activity for an effective program for preventive maintenance, repairs, renovations, projects, and equipment replacements. Provide learning opportunities for staff to strengthen and enhance their competencies. Ensure documentation is complete, timely, and in the appropriate places for reference as needed.
  • You will work with staff to update the preventive maintenance program regularly to ensure new items are added and items no longer in service are removed.
  • You will work with staff to verify that all preventive maintenance is completed according to the task lists, accepted practice and the schedule and that all documentation is completed.
  • You will coordinate with Wilco Hazmat for Decon/OSHA training in processes and response.
  • You will attend meetings with Emergency Management Group and Committee, CATRAC, Williamson County Public Health and Preparedness, and Infectious Disease Response Team, and facility and enterprise EOC Committees.
  • You will update documents as needed for Code Ready.
  • You will ensure all Life Safety inspections are complete on time
  • You will be responsible for the environment of Care regulatory rounding and corrections
  • Maintain CMMS (Engineering Central) and PM software (Complyos)

What qualifications you will need:
  • High School Graduate / GED
  • All experience should be for large commercial, industrial, or health care facility. Degree or Certification may count for some experience.
  • Degree in related field or from technical school
  • Licensed or certified in HVAC, Electrical, Plant Operations or Maintenance is preferred.
  • You must have vast knowledge of CMS and TJC codes and standards
  • Self-motivated individual
  • Detail oriented
  • Organized
