POSITION SUMMARY
The Software Development Manager for Optima Tax Relief, LLC (Optima) is located in the Santa Ana, California office and reports to the Chief Technology Officer. As a Manager, this role works with decision-makers to set direction, grow enterprise capability, and drive business value through AI-fueled products. In this role, the individual must be able to blend solid software architecture and product development expertise with proven experience. Responsibilities of this role include designing and implementing SaaS-based applications with a progressive technology stack utilizing .NET, Java, Web technologies, and SQL Server/MySQL and Microservices in an Agile environment. The goal of this role is to be able to deliver micro service-based solutions running in AWS/Azure. As a Manager, this role must also champion Optimas culture and Core Values and help lead the department to deliver the best customer experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Architect/Design technical solution, including overall system design, class design, and database design.
Create detailed written technical documentation based on functional requirements and as part of the SDLC.
Create, design, develop, and document software based on technical requirements.
Build prototypes.
Participate in code reviews, code analysis and identification of software risks. Train other team members in areas of software development, technical documentation.
Test and review programming to discover any errors and confirm that the programs meet required specifications.
Develop secure applications (role-based security, authorization, authentication, etc.).
Accomplishes department objectives by managing staff; planning and evaluating department activities.
Perform monthly/quarterly/annual reviews for direct reports. Coaches, counsels, and disciplines employees.
Manage projects, ensuring deadlines are met; includes suggesting improvements to enhance the departments performance and/or procedures.
Actively participates in Optima culture events and activities.
Other duties as assigned.
In order to be provided the essential training required to be successful in this role, it is mandatory that you are present for and complete all essential/initial training onsite for up to 5 business days (unless prior management approval is provided). Please note that additional onsite training may be required depending on business need.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering required.
7 plus years experience as an Application Architect or similar role.
2 years' experience as a supervisor / manager required.
Expert knowledge and experience with Java, .NET, C#, SQL Server, MySQL, Amazon Aurora, SQL Server, My SQL, and microservices using REST/JSON.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS,& ABILITIES
Exceptional knowledge of rational databases (Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL), ORM and SQL Queries.
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP), design patterns and programming skills.
Ability to understand the problem of the client and provide the best technical solution.
Proficient in current development and source code management tools (BitBucket, Git, TFS).
In-depth knowledge in SaaS and experience with AWS.
Ability in turning complex problems into simple and engaging experiences for the web and mobile.
