Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician II will be responsible for maintenance strategy and task execution that results in high levels of availability for facilities and capital equipment specific to the 2nd Shift. Responsibilities include but not limited to: repair, program, and maintain production equipment and machines. and are responsible for the upkeep of the buildings, such as electrical, plumbing, and heating and cooling systems. Duties may involve pipe fitting; insulating; welding; pneumatics; hydraulics; machining; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; repairing buildings, floors, and ceilings and troubleshooting in accordance with the blue-prints, manuals and building codes. Ability to work occasionally on weekends, and on-call hours for emergencies.

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED and technical training required.
  • 5 - 10 years of experience in mechanical/electrical/electronic repair or comparable education and training relating to facilities and capital equipment maintenance.
  • Advanced knowledge of blueprints and electrical diagrams.
  • Proficient in use of safety lockout/tagout procedures, including the ability to work safely with 110, 220 and 440 voltages.
  • Awareness of the possibility of electrical shocks, scrapes and bruises, cuts, and exposure to toxic materials.
  • Safety : Demonstrates awareness of safety requirements throughout the entire plant and wears appropriate PPE for assigned work. Motivates team to use appropriate PPE. Oversee the Lock-Out/Tag-Out processes. Recognizes potential safety risks and resolves with corrective actions or escalates appropriately to ensure safety of assigned teams.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
