Job description

We are seeking a certified CDL Yard Driver to join our Brownsburg, IN parts distribution warehouse team on our second shift team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Ability to safely operate equipment and follow yard guidelines (i.e. speed limits, wheel chocking, etc.)
• Must be able to transport, load and unload trailers as required.
• Receive and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery of goods to ensure timely service.
• Record vehicle information accurately and legibly maintaining records, logs and forms, including any forms required by the Department of Transportation (DOT).
• Inspect vehicle(s) and trailers to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order; maintain proper fuel levels and perform trailer inventory checks.
• Utilize warehouse management systems (e.g., yard management system, radio) to move trailers to designated locations within the yard.
• Accurate handling of CODs, delivery manifests

Position requirements include:

• CDL required.
• High school diploma or equivalent with prior heavy vehicle experience
• Medical examiner's certificate and the ability to have and maintain a satisfactory driving record within company policy limits.
• Basic knowledge and awareness in the following areas: Hazmat, Driver Specific Hazmat, and Security Awareness
• Customer service-oriented mentality with strong communication skills
• Safety conscious and reliable.
• Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
• Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems with minimal supervision.
• Excellent attendance
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, balance and use arms and hands to reach, pull, push, clasp and move a variety of materials. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 lbs. frequently.
