Position Purpose:

Work with Clinics to coordinate the process of referring patients to appropriate services. Work with clinics to ensure communication with patients regarding follow-through with referrals. Support doctors and patients in synchronizing appointments, authorizations, and tests taking place in different clinics. Will provide Medical Receptionist training for new staff as well as group in-services and one on one training follow-up. Provide quality assurance reviews on registration activities as a part of training and to assist with evaluations.

Position Duties (not all inclusive):

  • Assists as needed in the reception areas by receiving, greeting and directing patients, visitors, and clinic personnel providing accurate response in a friendly courteous manner
  • Promptly answers the phone pleasantly and directs calls to appropriate location
  • Works with clinics to schedule referral appointments appropriately and effectively per protocol
  • Works with clinics to schedule tests with good understanding of integrating procedures
  • Assists with locating and assembling records for physicians
  • Maintains monthly statistics and reports
  • Obtains charts from medical records
  • Consistently provides accurate information and timely, courteous assistance to other appropriate Hospital/ Clinic personnel regarding patient issues and related matters

  • Required: Able to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • Required: Computer literate and able to accurately enter data into computer system
  • Preferred: Three (3) years medical office experience
