Job Summary

This is a short-term, contract, lecturer appointment, which will provide instruction for a non-credit bearing course for the following programs:

All lecturers will be required to attend two training days:

  • May 31st, 2023 at the CU Denver Campus from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • June 2, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the CU Boulder Campus from 9:00 AM -1:00 PM

Who We Are

The Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement, which is part of the Office for Diversity, Equity and Community Engagement, partners with communities across Colorado and beyond to provide first-generation and low-income students and their families with comprehensive college preparation and social development programs.

The Partnership Outreach Programs office provides precollege support to youth from across Colorado. Every summer we welcome and host over 300 students on the CU Boulder campus for summer academic and residential experiences.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Attend the class(es) you were hired to teach, and be responsible for classroom management.
  • Enter grades and plan lessons.
  • Create non-grading duties for the Instructor’s Assistant in the classroom.
  • Attend required training and weekly staff meetings.
  • Maintain active communication with Director of the program.

What You Should Know

  • All University of Colorado Boulder employees are required to comply with the campus COVID-19 vaccine requirement. New employees must provide proof of vaccination or receive a medical or religious exemption within 30 days of employment.
  • Participants of our programs are primarily fist-generation students, with other marginalized identities (such as low-income, LGBTQ+, immigrant status, ethnically diverse, etc.), thus we require the instructor to have experience supporting and teaching our diverse student population.
  • This position does require you to teach in-person, and as an employee of the university you will be required to abide by university vaccination policies.
  • This is a temporary appointment with the university as a lecturer and does not qualify for university benefits other than sick time.
  • We strongly encourage the instructor to use a web based platform for course deliverables and materials (if applicable).
  • The Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement can provide at no cost to the instructor course materials and printing if requests are made two weeks in advance.

What We Can Offer

The salary range for these appointments will be $945.00 - $3,425.00, dependent on course.
