General Purpose of Job

Assist customers in selecting the perfect garage door for their home or business. Drive idc-Automatic sales revenue through the acquisition and development of key customers, retention, and development of existing assigned customers, and delivering a high level of customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet and engage customers that visit the showroom.
  • Follow up on leads and opportunities that arise from multiple sources including website leads and leads from our service team.
  • Quote appropriate service and products.
  • Resolve customer concerns in the field.
  • Cold call new customers for existing and new products and services.
  • Document actions and progress in CRM.
  • Participate in sales and company meetings.
  • Research market for new and existing products and services.
  • Research market for new and existing leads and opportunities.
  • Work with teams (including Supply Chain, Warehouse, Customer Service) to support customer needs.
  • Participate in creation of personal sales process and sales story.
  • Participate in setting goals and quotas.
  • Attend and work trade shows.
  • Monitor market conditions in relation to competitors.
  • Demonstrate and uphold company values.
  • Act as brand ambassador, always seizing opportunities to increase idc-Automatic visibility in the market.
  • Foster a spirit of cooperation and teamwork within and between departments.
  • Job check and measure when required.

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of sales experience required or a combination of education, training and experience.
  • Proficient computer skills required, including experience with Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required. CRM and/or ERP experience preferred.
  • The ability to identify actions necessary to complete tasks and obtain results.
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to idc-Automatic Core Values.
  • Must be a motivated, driven, self-starter.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Experience reading blueprints preferred.
  • A high level of attention to detail, organization, time management and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Strong relationship building skills required.
  • Demonstrate sound judgement, problem solving and decision-making in emotional, difficult, and stressful situations.
  • Ability to write professional correspondence and reports.
  • Must have reliable vehicle and be able to drive on regular basis.

Remote Work Eligibility:

Hybrid (showroom coverage as scheduled), remote after six-months of continuous employment. Remote work employees are expected to comply with idc-Automatic’s Remote Work Policy.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, touch objects, tools or controls and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move records, files and reports weighing up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally required to work extended and/or variable hours based on business need.


Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. This position operates in a professional office environment and on customer location. The position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, fax/scan machines and file cabinets. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, heat and stress.

Travel

This position requires approximately 30% travel to customer locations.
