Roadrunner Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital is a newly opened, progressive, employee-centered practice. We are locally owned by a single owner, not a large national corporation. We focus on practicing great medicine, meeting the needs of our community and keeping smart, hard-working employees long term. We are the only ER in the state with a vet on staff 24/7 every day of the year. The first seven months we've been open have been great and we want to continue to grow in a positive, healthy direction. Our goal is to have 2-3 vets on the floor at all times, 24 hours a day, to ensure we are providing optimal care to both hospitalized pets and outpatients and to ensure that vets are getting off work promptly when their shift ends.

Located 25 minutes from the heart of Albuquerque, 30 minutes from Santa Fe and 15-20 minutes from Rio Rancho, you can live in any of these cities and have a reasonable commute to work. Our hospital will be moving into Albuquerque in 2023.

We want to be transparent about our salary and benefits upfront so you can see if
this position is a good fit for you. Salary is $160,000 base with 25% production and
no negative accrual. We expect most of our current full-time vets to be making about $300,000/year after production. We offer a $35,000 signing bonus for veterinarians willing to work overnight shifts.

Full-time is considered to be 3 shifts per week. We pay 100% of the health
insurance premium for all full time employees and also offer a dental and vision
plan that employees can participate in for a nominal monthly amount. We offer 8
days of paid time off (base salary plus average production over the previous
quarter is paid during vacation days). All clinic staff, not just vets, receive paid CE
opportunities. Veterinarians receive up to $2500/year for continuing ed and 2
additional days of paid time off for CE. We have a matching 401K retirement plan.
We offer 6 weeks of paid maternity/parental leave after one year of employment.
Education is the key to personal and professional advancement and we offer an
annual tuition stipend for staff pursuing educational opportunities that are
applicable to the field of veterinary medicine. We offer a relocation stipend for
veterinarians joining us from out of state. Additional benefits include payment of
professional dues and licenses and a generous discount for medical care and
boarding of personal pets. Group fitness/strength classes are an additional fun perk.

The full-time schedule of only 12 shifts per month allows for time to experience all
our area has to offer from outdoor pursuits to live music and great local eateries.
