Pharmacy Technician Job Description
The Medicine Shoppe is a locally owned, independent pharmacy located in central Colorado Springs. The Medicine Shoppe is looking for a full time pharmacy technician to input new prescriptions, run refills, coordinate with prescribers, assist the pharmacist in fulfilling hospice prescriptions, single dose packaging for facilities, answering phones, operating the cash register and providing exceptional customer service. Hours will vary between 9am and 6pm Monday thru Friday and Saturday 9am-1pm. Some Saturdays are required (technicians rotate Saturdays, currently 1 Saturday/month).
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
- Bill medications for assisted living facilities
- Coordinate cycle fill prescriptions for assisted living facilities
- Prepare single dose packaging for assisted living facilities
- Respond to telephone inquiries and referring them to appropriate professional staff
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a positive attitude 40 hours per week
- Assist with use of automated dispensing machines
- Stock medication shelves, return excess stock to inventory
- Prepare and package compounded pharmaceuticals
- Resolve billing errors
- Assist with management of inventory levels
- Complete special projects as assigned by supervisor
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor to assist with preparation and delivery of patient medications
- Process patient care orders using the electronic ordering system may be required in certain areas
- Perform pharmacy computer system operations, including order entry, billing, crediting and updating
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is required.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Rotating weekends
