Position Summary: The Production Team Leader is responsible for training and monitoring employee performance to ensure products are produced and packaging according to standard operating procedures while adhering to Safe Quality Food guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices. This position will perform the responsibilities of the Production Supervisor when needed. The Production Team Leader may also perform processing and packaging responsibilities, or other responsibilities as assigned based on daily needs.

Responsibilities:

1. Works closely with employees to train and monitor employee performance to ensure job duties are performed safely, in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Processes and work is performed efficiently.

2. Performs periodic inspections throughout the shifts relating to vats, codes, cleaning, and sanitation.

3. Communicates with Production Supervisor and plant management daily regarding staffing, equipment, and production concerns.

4. Maintains tractability on ingredients and finished products.

5. Monitors packaging supply inventory levels.

6. Serves as a resource for employees; problem solves as needs occur.

7. May perform processing, packaging or other job duties based on daily needs.

8. Assists with equipment inspections.

9. Assists Production Supervisor to assure that production records are accurate and complete, i.e. charts, make sheets, sanitation logs, etc. and assists in coordinating production activities.

10. May perform Production Supervisor responsibilities.

11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. High school diploma or general education degree and 3 to 6 years leadership or food industry experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and industry experience is required.

2. Cheese Maker license and Pasteurization certification or ability to obtain license and certification is required.

3. A focus on safety, quality, and productivity and knowledgeable of OSHA, HAACP and good manufacturing practices for food processing is required.

4. Ability to effectively problem solve and prioritize is required.

5. Ability to lead, manage and motivate people is required.

6. Ability to listen and communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, is required.

7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and internet functions is required.

Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to meet the demands of the position per work screen protocol is required.
