The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a dedicated Program/Project Management Senior that will be assigned to Consumer Lending to deliver a new loan originations system working across multiple teams, projects, and partners. In this role you will also be working on Consumer Lending's Servicing Transformation journey.

This is a great opportunity to facilitate and drive the planning, execution, and delivery of moderately complex non-IT work efforts intended to accomplish business goals and objectives within prescribed timeframes and budgets. Demonstrate an advanced understanding of how activities contribute to the achievement of strategic business goals and operational objectives. Collaborate with key partners, vendors, and project/program teams to identify mutually beneficial outcomes for challenging priorities and negotiate timelines to ensure objectives are met.

This position is a hybrid work type and can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX; Plano, TX; Phoenix, AZ, or Tampa, FL. Hybrid roles help employees gain the best of both worlds – collaborating in-person in the office and working from home when needed to achieve focused results.

What you'll do:

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities for moderately complex work efforts through the development work efforts plans intended to accomplish goals and objectives within prescribed timeframes, scope and budgets.
  • Ensure consistent visibility for teams by supervising and reporting business objectives, work efforts achievements, and key indicators.
  • Connect with partners and provides insight on issues through root cause analyses.
  • Facilitate collaboration on creative alternatives to work efforts challenges with subject matter experts.
  • Remove obstacles and impediments to ensure business and operational objectives are met.
  • Develop and supervise project budgets that may include vital capital expenditures, operational expenses, and labor funding requirements.
  • Identify and apply standard methodologies and needed process improvements; drives adoption and challenges standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Monitor project execution to deliver incremental business value.
  • Participate in the creation of the master work efforts plan from the underlying plans (if applicable).
  • Assist in defining the control and the overall delivery of the work efforts to meet the goals, objectives and success criteria.
  • Establish overall cadence for communication with impacted partners, and provides framework for underlying work efforts(s) communication plans.
  • Participate in work effort closure activities to resolve benefit / business impact realization.
  • Handle risk by using the best risk management practices to address execution challenges associated with quality, schedule and cost, in adherence with risk management framework.
  • Carry out EPMO processes, procedures, controls, standards, tools and templates (as required).
  • Drive the adoption and sustainment of changes within the organization in compliance with USAA’s Change Management methodology.
  • Drive implementation of low to moderately complex work efforts, working closely with cross-functional teams and resources to achieve multiple program and project achievements within established timeframes.
  • Identify and handles existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are efficiently identified, measured, supervised, and controlled.
  • Follow written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities.

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 6 years of relevant experience in project or program management, including planning, tracking and delivery.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and demonstrated application of project management tools and methodologies.
  • Collaboration skills in a matrixed environment including providing consultative guidance to help solve enterprise level issues.
  • Possess an understanding of scope definition, process and solution mapping; process structures and components; and standard project planning methodologies.
  • Experience supporting projects with complex deliverables including information technology and dependencies across organizations.
  • In-depth understanding of risk management policies and procedures.

What sets you apart:

  • 6 years of experience in the Banking Industry (Retail Banking)
  • Experience with SAFe, Agile Scaled Framework
  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner

What we offer:

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $92,250- $182,030.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
