This role is based out of our office located in Shelton, WA and has the ability to be part-time remote.


Who you are: You have a natural interest and curiosity in real estate, especially land and timber. You have a lot of energy and are a great communicator with top notch integrity. You like people and enjoy building relationships and networking both internal and external to your job. You have at least 5 years of experience in sourcing, valuation and management of rural real estate or conservation transactions. Or you might be a natural resource professional with a strong desire to move into real property transactions. You are motivated and enjoy learning; taking on new projects is exciting to you.


What the job is: As the Land and Real Property Specialist, you will implement a forestland acquisition and disposition program in and around Green Diamond’s northern Oregon and Washington timberlands. This role is both an internal and external facing position which will require frequent interaction with other employees, contract service providers, and outside parties. Additionally, this role is expected to establish and cultivate an external network of timberland owners and brokers.

Here are some examples of the daily work associated with the job:


  • Screen and prioritize incoming offers to purchase or sell timberland.
  • Maintain a database to track comparable sales and real property market trends.
  • Successfully negotiate price and terms and manage the transaction process from initial contact through closing.
  • Establish a robust and effective relationship with the staff in each operating unit to foster efficiency and good communication.
  • Perform or direct the due diligence required to accurately value transaction opportunities.
  • Work closely with Division staff to coordinate valuation and transaction workflows.
  • Develop a network of external contacts to help source potential acquisition opportunities and service providers to supply contract deliverables when necessary.

Compensation:

Annual Salary Range: $68,700 - $103,100 per year. The pay range listed is just one component of Green Diamond’s total compensation package. Other rewards include eligibility to receive a company-wide annual financial performance bonus, and the opportunity to receive an individual performance-based bonus, candidate referral bonuses, and spot bonuses.
