Overview:
The Security Ambassador maintains a safe and secured environment by patrolling and monitoring business units and other organization premises. As needed, will provide guidance and direction to visitors and patients when arriving to the unit.

Responsibilities:
  • Conducts scheduled and impromptu walk-throughs as well as security inspections throughout the premises.
  • Acts as a liaison between patients and medical staff, providing guidance and direction for patients and visitors upon arrival to location.
  • Monitors surveillance camera system. Investigates, reports, and follows up on suspicious activity on the property.
  • Ensures only authorized personnel access restricted areas.
  • Leads efforts to de-escalate inappropriate behaviors.
  • Contacts law enforcement or fire department in cases of emergencies.
  • Capable of subduing unruly, aggressive, and/or baker-acted patients as instructed by Medical personnel.
  • Prepares objective reports on incidents and findings for Management as needed.
  • Escorts terminated staff, and parties who are trespassing on the premises.
  • Keeps order in lobby and waiting areas to avoid injuries or accidents
  • Takes proactive steps to provide a safe and secured working environment for staff and visitors.
  • Responds to incidents as needed and liaise with Law Enforcement & First Responders as required.
  • Interfaces with vendors, contractors, and suppliers scheduled to perform work on the premises
  • Receives, inspects, and distributes packages and letters delivered
  • Manages the traffic flow in the premises parking lot
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Authoritative verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings.
  • Capable of successfully deescalating situations verbally with unruly personnel.
  • Ability to deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner.


Physical Skills:


  • Ability to patrol the property on foot and access areas quickly.
  • Physically able to capture and detain individuals if necessary.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and monitoring surveillance equipment at times.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or a GED; Associates Degree preferred.


Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Security Guard; Healthcare preferred
