Job Description


We are seeking a Senior Cost Accountant who will be responsible for the overall accuracy of the costing system of the North America RF Business. This role is a key internal interface with Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Logistics, Quality and Manufacturing to deliver world class products on time and cost effectively. You will be responsible for day-to-day activities that support the financial reporting of the Gloucester based RF business.

  • Collaborate with Finance, Engineering and Purchasing to determine standard cost, confirm bill of materials and calculate overhead rate absorption to ensure accurate costing
  • Oversee the cost system for accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and quality.
  • Support implementation of system and process improvements (e.g. labor tracking)
  • Drive the Supply Chain and operations team to provide detailed cost reduction initiatives
  • Monitor Manufacturing variances to proactively highlight areas requiring operational focus, recommend revisions to standard cost and calculate the fully loaded labor rate to be updated in the Standard Cost
  • Supports FP&A with standard cost build and inventory analysis for Annual Budget, AOP, variance analysis and monthly forecasts
  • Assist with operational cost model to provide improved profitability reporting at a SKU-level
  • Support inventory control including cycle and full physical counts and inventory valuation including excess and obsolescence provisions, PPV and freight amortization, WIP labor and overhead accruals
  • Participate in inventory and COGS external audit (including consignment/subcontractor locations)
  • Conduct indirect cost analysis (freight, warehousing, other logistics costs)
  • Support day to day activities in the areas of capital expenditure tracking, transfer pricing, make versus buy analysis

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business degree with accounting or finance concentration
  • Proven cost accounting and analysis experience required
  • Experience at large, publicly traded manufacturing/electronics industry companies preferred
  • Solid ERP system experience strongly preferred (S4/Hana)
  • Additional MES system experience (MAX, Great Plains) a plus
  • CMA highly preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
