Responsibilities

    n
  • Provides full-spectrum emergency paramedical care for acute situations delivered in austere and limited resource environments.
  • n
  • Position requires travel to locations outside the continental United States.
  • n
  • Working with other members of a small team, performs initial assessments, develops a treatment plan in collaboration with medical staff, initiates care and takes medical directions from medical provider staff during routine and emergent situations.
  • n
  • Serves as subject matter expert with regards to pre-hospital paramedicine care.
  • n
  • Establishes IV access, administers medications and fluids to include blood products as necessary to manage acutely injured or ill patients under the direction of medical staff.
  • n
  • Selects and manage all types of non-invasive and invasive monitoring modalities, including arterial and central venous catheters. Manages complex patient airways and pulmonary function using the latest modalities of mechanical ventilation, pharmacological support, video laryngoscopy, and other respiratory/airway therapy techniques.
  • n
  • Conducts Critical Care Air Transport (CCAT) missions for ICU level patients.
  • n
  • Assists the Emergency Physician, Surgeon, or mid-level provider with routine (Sick Call) medicine.
  • n
  • Documents care given and completes medical records. Performs special staff functions as required

Qualifications

n
    n
  • National Certification as Paramedic from a national certification agency (NAEMT) or ATP and/or state licensed Paramedic with ability to obtain NREMT license
  • n
  • 5 + years Special Operations military and combat experience in austere locations.
  • n
  • Previous military specialty as: 18D, MARSOC or SEAL corpsman, Ranger Medic, or AFSOC PJ
  • n
  • Must have Special Operations military experience in austere locations within the last 5 years
  • n
  • Preferred- Deployment experience as a member of a Forward Surgical Team or similar element Current BLS, ACLS certification, PALS encouraged
  • n
  • Have a minimum four years of clinical experience and currently practicing
  • n
  • Current United States passport that will not expire within 1 year of employment
  • n
  • United States citizenship required
  • n
  • Must successfully complete physical, medical, psychological, drug screen, and security screening and series of interviews
  • n
  • After pre-screen, successful candidates will be invited for an in-person assessment
  • n
  • Physical requirements, candidates must:n
      n
    • Complete a two (2)-mile walk with body armor and helmet without rest
    • n
    • Complete a 1/4 -mile walk with 40-pounds of gear plus a personal 'go' bag
    • n
    • Complete a 10K run with a 28-pound weight vest under 90-minutes
    • n
    • Drag 185-pound patient simulator 100-meters.
    • n
    n
  • n
  • Must possess an active ISA/S sponsored clearance or be eligible for crossover and be able to obtain an ISA/TS or ISSA/TS within one year
  • n
