Position Summary:
GRDA is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Technician I-Electrical at its Grand River Energy Center (GREC), located just thirty (30) miles east of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
As a crew member under the supervision of the area supervisor, provides support for I&C, Electrical, Mechanical, and O&M technicians in the execution of preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance for power-generation assets. Coordinates and executes scheduled maintenance activities using both internal and external resources to ensure reliable, efficient, and safe operation of assigned equipment. Such equipment will include, but not be limited to advanced class combustion turbines, heat recovery steam generators, electrical distribution systems, distributed control systems, high voltage transformers and generators, AVR’s, PSS’s, condition monitoring and machine protection systems, and various high speed rotating machinery.

Reports to the area Supervisor

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Provide a safe working environment through procedural compliance, training, and safe work plans to safeguard personnel and plant equipment.
Entry level position that will work directly under the supervision of a Technician II-V
Installs, adjusts, inspects, services, and repairs a variety of electrical/mechanical equipment utilized in an electrical power station. This will include all areas inside the GREC facility.
Perform postmortem analysis for forced outages and equipment failures in assigned areas.
Odd shifts and after-hours work may be required under system emergency.
Creates, organizes, and maintains records for assigned oversight areas of the department(s).
Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
Must have completed a two-year course of study in the technical discipline to which assigned at a recognized trade, technical or vocational school, or accredited college; or completed two years of an accredited four year apprenticeship program in the discipline to which assigned.
The preferred applicant will have a minimum of one (1) year of experience performing skilled maintenance as an Electrical Technician at a generation or large industrial facility.
Additional preference given for training and direct experience with advanced class combustion turbines.
Must have a valid Oklahoma driver's license.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Ability to gain knowledge of power generation systems maintenance, including b turbine/generator controls, boiler controls, and other complex distributed control systems such as Emerson Ovation, Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley, DIASYS Netmation , high voltage switchgear, breakers, motors, generators, AVRs, protection equipment, etc.
Functional competency with personal computers; experience with Maximo, TK Pro, Excel, Access, and Word.
Must be capable of methodical analysis of complex technical problems.
Must possess and demonstrate excellent writing and composition skills.
Ability to read, interpret and carry out complex written and oral instructions.
Highly motivated with a willingness to work extended hours, when necessary, this includes scheduled overtime and emergency callouts to support the plant.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to walk, climb stairs, crawl, work from ladders and elevated platforms. Must not have a fear of heights, confined spaces, or working around high voltage equipment.
Ability to lift, move, and carry weights of up to 50 lb. on an irregular basis.
Must possess mental, visual, and auditory acuity for attention to visual and auditory detail. Manual dexterity is required for the operation of test equipment, small tools, and the installation, adjustment, and repair of control devices.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS & SAFETY CONCERNS:
Work locations range from an office environment to outdoors and/or indoors in a high noise/high temperature environment with possible work in confined spaces.
Emergency repair work may be required during system upsets.

Work will be at the Grand River Energy Center in Chouteau, Oklahoma. Minimal travel requirements.
