The Assistant Director of Information Services department is appointed by, and reports to, the County Chief Information Officer. Essential responsibilities include:

  • Liaise with customers to set expectations, meet performance goals, and achieve high customer satisfaction.
  • Direct, supervise, and guide departmental staff by establishing goals and priorities, policies, and performance standards to accomplish ISD’s operational plan.
  • Negotiate agreements and hold vendors and contractors accountable for performance.
  • Prioritize and manage projects to be completed on time and within budget estimates.
  • Assist in the preparation of and administer the department’s budget, service catalog, and rates.

The County’s technology and communications infrastructure is being enhanced or replaced to meet future business needs. Work is underway to improve the HR / Payroll, Property Tax, Integrated Criminal Justice, Radio and Network systems, and voice and call center systems.

The Board of Supervisors and County Executive are supportive of the investments in technology to keep the County current and try new ways of using technology to achieve savings and efficiencies. This dynamic environment presents many opportunities such as:
