The Opportunity – Union Paymaster

We are currently seeking a Union Paymaster to join our team, reporting to the Director of Production Union Operations.

What you'll Do:

• Handle union payroll process from calculations through to remittances
• Ability to synthesize complex collective bargaining agreements and simple mathematical rules
• Ensure correct interpretation of union agreements and other provisions
• Understanding of and ability to manually check calculations
• Work directly with clients to establish full understanding of union payroll process including roles and responsibilities of all parties involved
• Remit all contributions & dues in a timely manner
• Provide appropriate and accurate reports to benefit plans
• Organize and track all projects, payroll batches, dues, benefit plan contributions, remittances, etc.
• Stay up-to-date with industry standards and union contracts and interpretations
• Build strong relationships with clients, union representatives, benefit plan representatives, freelance production personnel
• Independently research issues as they arise and suggest options for resolution
• Have working knowledge of union payroll
• Supporting the continuous development and improvement of processes unique to union payrolls that are scalable
• Support the company's growth by establishing and improving procedures
• Remain current related to contribution rates, contract issues, and reporting
• Assist with other tasks as needed

What you'll Have:

• 5+ years experience in multi-union environment minimum
• Clear understanding of Feature/TV collective bargaining agreements
• Knowledge and ability to calculate commercial union timecards without software
• Understand collective bargaining agreement details and ability to implement
• Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate issues that are complex in nature, both verbally and in writing, through various mediums
• Experience collaborating with clients and departments to identify needs, prioritize requests, and build effective relationships using tact and diplomacy
• Excellent customer service skills
• High level of proficiency in Excel and Google Suite
• Able to multitask and work proactively and independently in an ever changing environment
