Location: Fully remote position – targeting candidates Georgia, Ohio, Louisiana, Utah, and Idaho - must be able to work M-F 9-6 mountain time. Headquartered in Bluffdale, UT

Reports to: VOB Team Lead
Pay: $15-$16 per hour

We’re looking for at least one VOB Specialist to add to our team to help assist with our growth and help continually improve our processes.

The Role: As a Verification of Benefits Specialist, you will be a key member of the VOB Team as the face to our clients and the clients’ liaison to the insurance companies. You must work quickly and accurately to obtain and record verification of benefits information. This role balances high attention to detail and organization, high levels of communication, meticulous data entry, and efficiency - success comes from mastering them. Our VOB Team highly values persistence, collaboration and trustworthiness. And so do our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather insurance and patient information from clients.
  • Perform accurate verification of benefits for patients, which includes calling the insurance company for all VOB’s. Investigate and work to identify all aspects of each patient’s benefits, such as exclusions, which may influence our clients’ decision to admit or refer the patient to another facility.
  • Accurately and fully complete VOB forms and submit to clients and pertinent internal employees within 30 minutes of receiving each VOB request.
  • Re-verify VOB’s when a patient’s plan changes or upon request.
  • Keep notes and statuses up to date and accurate within our electronic systems.
  • Establish and maintain professional working relationships with clients, providers, and insurance companies - our clients need to absolutely love working with you.
  • Facilitate clients’ training on our processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrate and value adherence to policies pertaining to patient privacy, following all HIPAA requirements.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • At least 1-2 years of insurance VOB experience preferred; emphasis in dual diagnosis with mental health and substance abuse preferred.
  • Must be able to work each weekday from 8am-5pm Eastern time.
  • Must have superior customer service skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with prompt and professional response.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets required.
  • Experience with ADS/Medics Premier is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Availity preferred.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
  • Experience with Google Workspace/G-Suite is a plus (Google Docs, Google’s folder system, etc.)
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks when given.
  • Capable of working within and adapting to new policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the Company.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
