Under the general direction of the After School Program Director, the Virtual Learning Micro Site Director(s) (AM Site Dir- 6:45a-2:45p/PM Site Dir- 2:00p-6:30p) is responsible for the day to day operations of the YMCA branch virtual learning micro site. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: supervising, planning, organizing and implementing a structured program that supports activities for elementary school-age children in a learning environment. The incumbent will ensure that all administrative and program decisions are guided by the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, and Bright from the Start/DECAL-if at a licensed BFTS facility, program standards. Additionally, this position must perform duties in accordance with the policies, goals, mission, values and objectives established by the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, Branch Strategic Plan, Safety Protocols including COVID-19, Member Services Guidelines, and Program Approved Non-negotiables. Emphasis will be placed on member service, program knowledge, participant/staff safety, and communication with members and employees. In addition, the Virtual Learning Micro Site Director will ensure a high level of quality programs and collaborate with outside partners, school officials and faculty.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree or technical certification or degree
  • If at a licensed Bright from the Start facility, must possess a minimum credential that meets BFTS Site Director’s requirement.
  • Must have a minimum of three years prior experience working with school-age children in a group setting.
  • Preferred, minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a licensed school-age setting.
  • Have evidence of current successful completion of biennial training in CPR/First Aid/AED.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Have experience with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Power Point, as well as, internet technology platforms such as Google Classroom and Zoom.
  • If working at a BFTS licensed facility, must receive a cleared GCIC/NCIC and Fingerprint check through Bright From the Start before working. (Annual GCIC checks will be conducted before each school year begin.)
Ongoing Responsibilities:
  • Operate the program according to YMCA policies and procedures.
  • Create an environment that provides various activities and instruction to support program goals.
  • Conduct daily assessments of the program to ensure compliance with YMCA and BFTS regulations-if at a BFTS licensed facility.
  • Supervise staff and communicate any concerns with the Afterschool Director.
  • Maintain staff and student files to remain in compliance with the YMCA, and BFTS-if at a licensed BFTS facility
  • Compile attendance records and other pertinent information required by the program.
  • Coordinate supply orders with the Afterschool Director.
  • Attend YMCA and other trainings as scheduled. If working at a BFTS licensed facility, maintain BFTS annual trainings hours.
  • Consult with the Afterschool Director(s) on concerns related to student(s) development or behavior.
  • Provide input into the planning and development of the micro site learning program including a daily calendar.
  • Complete weekly/monthly self-assessments of the program.
  • Perform other duties as related to the delivery of a quality program.
  • Assist students and support staff with virtual learning assignments as required by their school district.
  • This position must perform duties in accordance with the policies, goals, mission, values and objectives established by the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, Branch Strategic Plan, Safety Protocols including COVID-19, and Member Services Guidelines and Program Non-Negotiables.   • Implement the YMCA safety protocols both related to COVID-19 and branch operations.
  • Implement wellness checks and provide leadership to the team that ensures participant/staff adherence to the Y safety protocols, with a commitment to member and staff safety.
  • Adhere to the YMCA Keeping Kids Safe Policy.
  • Maintain a budget in accordance with the approved line items.
  • Ensure that lunch and snack arrive on time.
  • Work with the Afterschool Director to process payments and 3rd party billing.
  • Communicate with partners and school officials when necessary.
  • Coordinate and supervise all protocols related to drop off and pickup.

Children and Families will experience a high-quality school-age program. Children will be supervised at all times. The program will remain in compliance at all times with the YMCA, and BFTS if at a licensed facility, rules and regulations.
Ergonomic Requirements:
Bending, stooping, standing, sitting, lifting up to thirty pounds, seeing, hearing, keyboard input, ability to change diapers.
