Hourly, up to 7.5 hrs/week , Days and Evenings, Nights, Weekend as needed

Reporting to the WC Childcare Coordinator, is responsible for providing childcare services in a safe, caring, secure and effective manner with age appropriate interactions, play activities, and experiences for the children within the determined age range.

1. Greets children and parents in a positive manner, while monitoring appropriate entry and exit of adults and children in and out of the secured child care area according to center policy. Represents Wellness Center Services in a professional, courteous and enthusiastic manner.

2. Leads daily crafts and activities for all age and skill levels and provide positive age appropriate interactions.

3. Maintains knowledgeable of and enforces the Center's child care policies to ensure a safe environment for all children.

4. Provides parents and children a comfortable, safe and secure environment in a friendly setting.

5. Receives parents’ feedback, concerns and/or questions related to child care. Follows-up as appropriate with leadership for required support.

6. Meets and maintains all safety requirements and certifications necessary to perform job duties.

7. Adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications


1. The level of knowledge normally obtained through the completion of a High School diploma.

2. CPR/AED Certification through the American Heart Association or within 90 days of hire.

3. The interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with children 6 months to 13 years of age, families and other hospital staff members.

4. The organizational skills necessary to work within the department guidelines to oversee the wellbeing of children and lead their activities.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Requires moderate physical effort with continuous standing or walking. May require frequent lifting or moving of light weight material, occasional moving or lifting of average weight material, or rarely lifting or moving of heavy weight material.
2. Flow of work and character of duties involves part normal and part concentrated attention.
WORKING CONDITIONS: (Describe any unfavorable working conditions or hazards).
1. Good working conditions. Seldom exposed to disagreeable working conditions or hazards. Probability of injury is unlikely. Injuries would be of a first-aid nature.
