SUMMARY: Rotates throughout several tasks in the bakery including planting, dipping, wrapping, filling, and packaging of product while adhering to foods safety and quality procedures. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary based on the current business needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for following departmental direction and adhering to all product specifications, food safety, and quality
  • Meets daily labor and waste goals as planned and driven by management
  • Follows all manufacturing Food Safety programs, GMPs and HACCP Policies
  • Observes products across multiple stages to ensure correct count, flavor, label accuracy and correct case packs
  • Rotates among duties within the bakery production line including the fruit planting, chocolate dipping, sample chopping, wrapping, and packing
  • Performs other production duties: pick/pack orders, receive/stow product and ensure inventory accuracy at or above the rate expectation for each task
  • Sets up packaging material based on order, fill cookies based on matrix, insert packing materials to complete the products; packing specifications are met
  • Sample production for retail and wholesale sampling
  • Memorization of product matrix for each packaged box
  • Fills packaged products into cases and date and store in designated location
  • Operates and assists in various equipment such as heat-sealing gun, sealing machine, weight right machine, tabletop chocolate tempering machine, flow wrappers, chocolate tempering tanks, vertical feeder
  • Performs quality control checks consistently and properly throughout the bakery production process
  • Ensures that raw ingredients and raw materials used are of good quality and appropriate quantity
  • Makes sure that all perishable items are stored and rotated properly
  • Observes color of cookies (unbaked and baked) and inform baker of not up to standard quality
  • Observes products across multiple stages, to include ensuring proper weights, baking, quantity/ distribution, cooling timeline, label accuracy
  • Responsible for independent station work and team work to complete orders properly
  • Ensures all bakery products and ingredients are properly labeled and dated following FIFO and best before date standard protocols
  • Adheres to all safety guidelines in the production and handling of materials in the factory
  • Reports any issues or problems with production to immediate supervisor
  • Respects and supports supervisors and managers
  • Participates in training and progress developments
  • Performs other duties as assigned including housekeeping of common area and restrooms and performs laundry service in factory

PHYSICAL & WORKING DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Ability to lift and /or move up to 50 lbs. unassisted occasionally
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently
  • Works around food manufacturing equipment and supplies
  • Continuously lifting, pushing, pulling and grasping while standing for an 8 to 12-hour shift
  • Perform duties at elevations greater than 3ft.
  • Wears protective gear (uniform), including gloves, face/eye shields, aprons, hearing protection, hairnets, beard nets, etc.
  • Ability to work overtime and/or flex work hours as required (day or night 12 hour-shifts) including weekends and holidays

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Inside of a typical industrial facility, which includes working with and around large machinery, variations in temperature, sound ( decibels), odors, humidity, and elevations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
