Celebrity Cruises are looking for a Business Development Manager to look after EMEA accounts. Successful candidate would be responsible for development and acceleration of the growth of business from identified markets across the EMEA region by working closely with existing partners, supporting the Head of Business Development (HoBD) and sourcing new opportunities. This growth will occur, in large part, by building an understanding of relevant opportunities, developing relationships and the proposal/implementation of creative strategies.


This person will also elevate awareness and preference for the Celebrity Cruises brand across a number of assigned markets to ensure growth of high quality demand. Reporting into HoBD, this is an ideal role for a resourceful sales professional with proven account management success plus an entrepreneurial flair; excited and motivated by exceeding sales targets.

Success will be measured by implementing new initiatives and integrated strategic sales and marketing plans to meet and exceed passenger volume, APD, revenue, and other agreed targets.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

PROFITABLE ACCOUNT PLANNING

  • Research and investigate opportunities in different markets and devise growth strategies to accelerate performance and achievement of targets
  • Produce strategic destination and account plans aligned to the respective booking curves
  • Development of an annual sales plan for each assigned account ensuring the plans will drive improvement on all key metrics including APD, revenue and passengers.
  • Analyse account performance, understand how to capitalise on new opportunities and ensure that the distribution strategy is driving optimal return on investment.
  • Work with the commercial manager and sales support team to analyse weekly results plus those in relation to longer term Commercial deals providing insight and trending in order to implement relevant actions.
  • Effectively manage agreed Co-op / marketing budgets ensuring reported return on investment across the account portfolio is measured and achieves pre-agreed targets with partners.
  • Lead Commercial negotiations to enable both short term tactical initiatives and long term profitable growth whilst being conscious of the competitive environment.
  • Responsible for competitive intelligence gathering, providing regular updates to the organisation alongside appropriate recommendations.

CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT AND COMMITMENT

  • Develop sustainable relationships with key decision makers and influencers across the markets and account portfolio.
  • Produce, agree and adhere to a contact strategy and overall plan for success that drives focus on delivering shared accountability to the agreed plans.
  • Set clear and collaborative SMART objectives and an agreed agenda for all meetings to maximise time available.
  • Implement and deliver both product and automation training to ensure full awareness of all available products.
  • Act as Ambassador for Celebrity Cruises at key trade and consumer events in the markets.
  • Prepare and host successful customer educational events / trips i.e. Ship Launches, Ship Visits, Conferences etc as required with targeted sales performance post the event to ensure a return on any investment made.
  • Influence the virtual cross functional support teams and ensure the right amount of time is dedicated to supporting the identified strategic partners with an execution plan.

EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS


  • Field Sales and Account Management experience for a minimum of 3 years is essential
  • Excellent relationship building skills demonstrated both internally and externally
  • Ability to present themselves effectively verbally and in writing at all levels including to senior management, customers and providing training to travel partners
  • Proven commercial skills and results driven with the ability to effectively analyse facts, data and situations then present a summary and recommendations
  • Highly motivated with a positive ‘can do’ attitude, the ability to work with many priorities and deadlines in a very busy environment
  • Good understanding of the potential impact for digital marketing campaigns in order to review partner proposals objectively and suggest improvements
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills preferable
  • Flexible on working hours and travel – significant overseas travel will be required
  • Good at identifying the problems and finding creative and innovative solutions
  • Current clean driving licence
