Summary
Sort and distribute incoming mail and dispatch outgoing mail to and from various County locations. Destroy sensitive documents according to all federal and state guidelines. Obtain evidence for the grand jury from various entities in Tarrant County such as municipal police departments and 911 call centers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees, coordinates and actively participates with Facilities to ensure all Criminal District Attorney's Office sensitive document destruction meets DPS, HIPAA, federal and state guidelines for transporting and destruction on a weekly basis. Routinely evaluates the needs of different locations to determine where locked bins need to be relocated to meet the needs of the unit.
- Receives and transports, delivers and safeguards valuable items of evidence on a daily basis for the grand jury that are important to the successful prosecution of criminal cases.
- Coordinates grand jury evidence pickup with various police departments, 911 call center, grand jury attorneys, investigators and various other locations throughout the County.
- Maintains the care, custody and control of all evidence and destruction of sensitive documents. Ensures destruction of closed criminal cases on schedule and by meeting specific guidelines.
- Troubleshoots land line phone issues on a daily basis.
- Collects and delivers accounts payable and payroll checks.
- Collects mail and delivers to offices with the Criminal District Attorney's Office and various other County offices on a daily basis.
- Collects and distributes supplies within the Criminal District Attorney's Office and various sub-offices on a daily basis.
- Collects and delivers graphic orders for staff and use in the courtroom.
- Delivers paperwork to federal courthouse for filings.
- Operates motor vehicle to complete various errands on a daily basis.
- Assists with asset moves.
- Coordinates mail, supplies, and pickups at satellite offices.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
NOTE:

High school diploma or equivalent. -
Two (2) full-time years working experience with two (2) full-time years in evidence and sensitive documents handling and destruction preferred.

Valid and current TX driver's license.

Knowledge of compliance of sensitive document destruction and evidence handling.
If hired, you must provide proof of educational attainment at new hire processing.
Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudication in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic bar to employment. Each case is considered individually.
