Kaneka is looking to hire a Lab Techician:

  • Associates degree in Chemistry required or Bachelors in Chemistry preferred.
  • 2 years Experience as a lab technician required.
  • Establish, plan, and conducting lab work following the original plan created by the chemist/scientist/senior chemist/senior scientist.
  • Provide input for suitable lab experiments and evaluation conditions to develop new products.
  • Plan, initiate, monitor, and report on trials for existing and/or new products as planned by the chemist/scientist/senior chemist/senior scientist.
  • Keep good track of experimental results and summary in lab notebooks and on SharePoint.
  • Write monthly summary and participate in monthly technical meetings as required.
  • Get job assignment and procedure from chemist/scientist/senior chemist/senior scientist.
  • Mix raw materials for sample lab formulations and/or pilot mixes as directed by the chemist/scientist/senior chemist/senior scientist.
  • Work as an assistant to perform pilot mixes and prepreg production trials.
  • Utilize various analytical, physical, and mechanical testing equipment as directed by the chemist/scientist/senior chemist/senior scientist. Some examples include, but are not limited to, FTIR, HPLC, rheometer, DSC, DMA, viscometer, etc.
  • Control stock of all ingredients and equipment for mixing.
  • Check blend sheet.
  • Consult with chemist/scientist/senior chemist/senior scientist in case of any changes in mixing procedures, ingredients, and equipment.
  • Maintain good conditions of all equipment used.
  • Communicate with chemist/scientist/senior chemist/senior scientist for day to day job activities.
  • Communicate with Production, SHE dept., Maintenance dept., and Customer Service/Shipping dept. to coordinate division activities.
  • Follow all relevant safety procedures.
  • Provide observation/input on safety issues.
  • Read through SDS and check the important aspects of raw materials before use.
  • Housekeeping/cleaning lab
  • Interact with other members in division/company to coordinate division activities
  • Communicate with vendors regarding samples, ingredients, mixers and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Full time, Mon-Fri job. Must be reliable with attendance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $32.00 per hour
