Description: Naval Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Accountant to provide direct accounting operations support to the accounting team.

Responsibilities:

• Full-cycle accounting - responsible for maintaining the accounting system transactional records to ensure timely and accurate financial statements/project data.
• Must possess strong Government Contracting Accounting skills, proven GOVCON general ledger and cost accounting experience.
• Must have strong Deltek Costpoint experience in multiple modules.
• Monitor and analyze general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Tactical responsibilities include general ledger account reconciliation, project set-ups, project modifications, bank reconciliations, cash flow tracking, assist with month / year-end closes, and troubleshooting issues.
• Supervise semi-monthly payroll prior to processing through ADP.
• Establish, maintain, and enforce accounting policies and procedures.
• Act as backup to other accounting staff members.
• Support CFO in all financial matters of the organization, in issues including reviews/audit, tax, financial forecasting, etc.

Location: Hybrid/Lexington Park, MD

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

Experience: 6 years of Cost Accounting in a government contracting environment is required

• Experience working with DCAA and understanding/preparing Incurred Cost Submissions
• 6 years Government Contracting ERP/Financial Accounting system experience required (Deltek Costpoint)
• Problem Solving / Analysis.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
• Microsoft Excel skills (mid-level)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
• ADP Workforce Now experience a plus

Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain/maintain secret clearance if needed
