Description

We are seeking a Senior Instructional Systems Designer to support the Defense Acquisitions University (DAU) Learning Science Application Center. As a Senior Instructional Systems Designer, you will support the design, development, delivery and deployment of relevant, high-quality learning assets and experiences. These assets and experiences will be delivered in modalities including face-to-face, hybrid, and virtual learning assets.

Instructional Designer Responsibilities

• Lead the analysis, design, and development of learning assets
• Complete analysis on existing/provided content to recognize gaps, create learning objectives, and make recommendations to create a framework for development
• Create analysis and design documents incorporating varying levels of interactivity, learner engagement, videos, adult leaning theory, and the ADDIE model
• Design learning assets and supporting materials according to approved analysis and design documents
• Create storyboards for on-line and instructor led learning assets
• Collaborate with subject matter experts as required
• Create various assessments, like informal knowledge checks and formal exam questions
• Apply competency mapping to develop assessments that address the needs of learners
• Develop performance-based learning objectives aligned with Bloom’s Taxonomy level
• Coach colleagues in best practices when working with DAU

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience working as a senior instructional systems designer
• Possess experience working with US Government agencies preferred
• Possess experience designing courses that are developed with Articulate, MS Teams Education, HTML-based applications, Composica or Adobe Captivate
• Strong facilitation and analysis skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of production team
• Familiarity with the video production process, from pre-production to post-production
• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Instructional Design from an accredited college or university, or equivalent
• Possess strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Possess proficiency in MS Office
• Strong command of the English language
• Reliable high-speed internet connection
• Core hours of 9am to 3pm ET
