POSITION SUMMARY:


Responsible to manage all activities for a lean production philosophy, productivity and safety advantages, environment, and implementation. A technical background combined with product/management skills are needed. This position will interact with all areas of the business.
This position is responsible to lead the company initiative to move towards lean production environment. Acts as a central resource for lean manufacturing and assists with day-to-day production support and improvements. This includes but not limited to engineering, marketing/sales, production, quality control, documentation, and sourcing. The manufacturing Engineer will maximize efficiency by optimizing the layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Additionally, Manufacturing Engineer III may conduct time and cost analysis of processes.


POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Plans and designs manufacturing processes for the facility.
  • Develop principal work standards and line balancing for productivity.
  • Identify manufacturing cost reductions and provide ROI justifications for change.
  • Optimize machining processes to reach product quality, efficiency, and process repeatability.
  • Execute LEAN manufacturing techniques and design.
  • Improving existing operations, incorporating new methods and processes.
  • Optimize workflow and cell designs and introduce cost-effective automation for productivity and safety advantages.
  • Design fixtures for new product or process.
  • Determines the parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.
  • Solid works Drafting Experience to update changes in NPI’s and current models.
  • Track and execute cost reduction for process improvements.
  • Investigating design/operational problems affecting production and dealing with them in a systematic, methodical manner.
  • Plan, execute and manage projects to complete through product continuous improvement.
  • Develop and sustain employees training and development on lean concepts.
  • Lead value stream mapping exercises to determine and record business improvement areas.
  • Designing production processes that maximize efficiency and reduce waste.


IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Ability to understand production processes and should be aware about the production operations.
  • Work towards increasing the efficiency and safety of the manufacturing system.
  • Work towards cutting the maintenance and repair cost.
  • Knowledge of value stream mapping and application of such.
  • Ability to analyze complex manufacturing data and propose changes leading to higher
  • efficiency and safety.
  • Must be a team player and understand motivating a team member into lean environment.
  • Self-motivated to implement goals with little supervision.
  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills needed to interact with all areas of business.
  • Strong Analytical & technical skills are needed for all product support activities.
  • Multi-tasking skills are required to manage multiple projects and various project activities.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Highly hands-on and strong mechanical aptitude needed.


REQUIRED EDUCATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4-7 years with proven experience utilizing Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing initiatives in production are preferred.
  • Work experience with Solid works and drafting.
  • Certification in Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing preferred.
  • Computer proficient.
  • Understanding of RV or automotive Industry preferred, but not required.


Travel:

  • Traveling will be required to California for the first 3 months. Candidate will be required to travel three weeks a month.
