The CSWE-accredited School of Social Work at New Mexico State University (NMSU) invites applicants to apply for a full-time 12-month non-tenure seeking Practicum Education Coordinator position at the College Assistant Professor level. The coordinator may be assigned to coordinate practicum/ field education programs on the Las Cruces campus and/or online. Successful applicants will be prepared to coordinate practicum placements for BSW and/or MSW students, cultivate relationships and develop affiliation agreements with community and State organizations serving as practicum/field sites, teach bachelor’s or master’s-level social work courses, and provide professional advisement for BSW and MSW students. Social Work faculty are expected to promote social justice and equity among diverse populations through teaching and curriculum, outreach and community partnerships, and leadership practices. Service at the department, University, and professional levels are expected with this position.
Required Qualifications
Required qualifications include: 1) Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program, 2) at least 2 years’ post-MSW practice experience, 3) and must be licensed or license-eligible in the State of New Mexico.
Preferred Qualifications (optional)
Preferred qualifications include: 1) 5 years’ post-MSW practice experience, 2) experience teaching at the university level, 3) experience coordinating practicum education programs, 4) experience with online learning, 5) knowledge of and experience with CSWE accreditation requirements, 6) experience with short and long-term planning and/or program administration, 7) demonstrated record of community engagement, 8) demonstrated record of work with diverse populations, and 9) bilingual in English and Spanish.
